Message From The Chief

I would like to welcome you to the Dewey Beach Police Department website. This website is still a work in progress, we will be adding and improving this site as we move forward with multiple projects, we are working on to improve our level of service to our community and our visitors.

My team is some of the very best Law Enforcement Officers in the state. They are dedicated to making Dewey Beach a safe and enjoyable place to live, work and play. The Dewey Beach Police Department operates under three defined tenets:

DUTY: Our officers are committed to both a legal and moral obligation to serve the public within the parameters of the United States Constitution, Delaware State Constitution, and federal and state court decisions that define our legal authority in everyday policing.

HONOR: In carrying out our duties we will do so with adherence to what is right and lawful without partiality or prejudice. We will fulfill our obligation to the community we serve with honesty, integrity, and devotion.

COMMUNITY: We will establish, foster, and grow partnerships with our citizens, business owners, and visitors to work together in keeping our town safe, secure, and welcoming to all people.

We deploy our Officers in vehicles, on foot, on bikes, and on UTV’s. We recently added two K-9 teams to enhance our capabilities. Our authorized manpower has increased to improve our responsiveness, and our Officers are receiving much greater professional training at all levels.

I am honored to be entrusted to lead this agency and am always willing to hear feedback from our community.
